‘Tis the Season to be Joyous

Finally, the best time of the year is here. The season for joy and making merry, for holidays and time offs is now! Family time, vacations with friends, shopping, partying… when the flavour of the month is sugar and spice and all things nice.

This isn’t the time to hold grudges or have tiffs, but for hugs and kisses. It’s the period of forgiveness, for making friends out of strangers and fostering existing relations.

It’s the month of payoffs. When you give your mind and body the much-needed rest, after all the hard work put in the past eleven months. So put up your feet and unwind. Pamper yourself with whatever your heart desires. Maybe a bit of retail therapy or a tête-à-tête over a glass of wine or practising new dance moves shaking a leg or two; perhaps even just chilling on a beach or in the company of loved ones. All great options to unwind as the year comes to a close.

The point is to let go of unpleasantness and spread joie de vivre within and all around you. And honestly, what does it really take to do that? A genuine smile, a warm hug, few motivating words, little kindness and compassion… nothing that would pinch your pocket… These seemingly small acts could certainly touch someone deeply and make a difference you cannot even begin to understand.

For what is joy but a moment of celebration? A moment of celebrating life and acknowledging that you are alive and well. Life is nothing more than a series of moments, all strung together, with each moment having its own colour and lustre, telling its unique story. Is it not? And you have the power to choose the ones you want to wear and adorn your person with. To showcase, through your personality.

So pick the ones that were fun-filled and enjoyable, those that bring a smile to your face even today. Gather and share them with others, to bring cheer and create more such wonderful memories. Of which, the more you fill your mind’s database with, the less space you leave for unlikeable remembrances. Not only will you then spread merriment around you but also have this treasure house of joyful moments to radiate your persona with.

And who doesn’t like to be around joyful people? People who make you smile and feel good about yourself? Who doesn’t want to soak in such an aura? So go right ahead and expand that aura of joyfulness, allow as many as possible to bask in its warmth. Fill your cup and may it overflow this season… with sugar and spice and all things nice. Cheers!
